childish, childlike
The suffix -ish often has unfavorable connotations. Childish refers to undesirable characteristics (childish temper, childish selfishness). The suffix -like frequently causes neutral or pleasing reactions (childlike innocence, childlike faith). Childish and infantile are only approximate synonyms; their antonyms are adult and mature.
